๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐ท๐๐ซ, ๐ฑ๐ท, is a man whose life is dedicated to education and to the well-being of every student who walked through the doors of his tutelage. ๐ฉ๐๐๐ is more than just a Rector and Lecturer; he is a guiding light, offering mentorship and support to everyone of us in his care. His office since attaining the role of a Rector of the college is always open, a safe haven where any students could seek guidance, share their dreams, or simply find a listening ear. He has an extraordinary ability to see potential in each of us, encouraging us to pursue our passions and reach for our goals.
Our Father’s contributions so far to academia extends beyond his role as a leader. As a Church historian, ๐ซ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ passionately explore on a daily basis the rich tapestry of our faithโs history, sharing his insights with the students always. His lectures were not just lessons; they were invitations to explore the depths of our beliefs and understand the foundations of our faith. His love for history was infectious, igniting a curiosity in all of us to learn more and delve deeper into our shared heritage. He treats every student as his own child, celebrating our successes and comforting us in our failures. He teaches us that education is not just about academics; itโs about building a community grounded in love, respect, and support.
As a Theologian and Liturgist that he is, His knowledge of our liturgy is vast, and he shares it with such enthusiasm that it was impossible not to be captivated. Through his lectures and discussions, he teaches us to appreciate our heritage and our roots, to learn from great liturgists, and to apply those lessons in our services to be great worship leaders. He has a unique ability to connect historical events to our present realities, reminding us of the essence of being able to conduct any service well and be the best in our vocation and calling.

You will recall that in October, 2023 following the Sabbatical Leave embarked on by The Ven. Israel Olusegun Odukogbe, PhD, the Rector of the College, The Ven. Moses Adebolu Adetunmbi, Phd, JP, announced the appointment of The Ven Simeon Iruoghene Akponorie as the Acting Registrar of the College.
Yesterday, at the beginning of the year 2024 AVCTA Students’ Body Week and during the Rector’s Address, The Rector and Head of our College, The Ven. Moses Adebolu Adetunmbi, Phd (Ife), JP, confirmed the appointment of The Ven. Simeon Iruoghene Akponorie, PhD (Ibadan) as the New Registrar of the College. In describing the new Registrar, said, “for the period that he was acting, I discovered very many talents hidden in him which he let out, very dutiful, loyal, painstaking, an academic per excellence, very brilliant, articulate, eloquent and honest.”
He further charged the new Registrar to see this as a call to duty as there are so many works ahead and that he should keep being supportive just as he has always been.
